Friday evening the sportfishing charter boat Prowler was involved in a collision with a mega yacht in the Pacific Ocean near Mexico. Reports have it that multiple injuries were sustained according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
USCG noted that there were 28 people aboard the Prowler at the time of impact, and that the boat was heavily damaged. The USCG sent a helicopter, and a 45-foot boat the Cutter Sea Otter to assist with rescue efforts.
The critically injured victim was flown to a hospital in San Diego. The Sea Otter is transporting the other injured patrons to land.
The Attessa IV is a $250 million “mega-yacht.” It has a helipad, ten cabins, a movie theater, pool, gym and a beauty salon. It can accommodate up to 36 guests with room for a 21-member crew.
